Hot Picks: Ahafo Ultimate Awards New Artist of the year.

The music and entertainment industry in Ahafo is becoming more lucrative and a host of new faces are seen day in day out. Despite the lucrativeness the industry is becoming, people still fade out after struggling to get to their target audience.

The industry recognizes big names like JayBoy, Shotto Phame, Cheminist, Chapterz, Lawd Inna Works, Jubilant, Akwasi Poy, Mr. Pounds, Yaw Panda, Akitsi Phaser and Bingi Nas to mention but few. The above mentioned names is close to becoming household names because of consistency and hard work on the side of both artistes and the media.

In recent times, the change in consumer taste has been a gateway for a host of new artistes into the industry. Rappers from the post-drill era struggled to get to their target audience; music and artists more popular was hiplife/hi-life and gospel music and artistes.

The narrative is different now. Although the above mentioned genres are still relevant, hiphop and drill music is becoming more sought after not only in the Ahafo music industry but across the country and doers of this genre are gradually being accepted.

The Ahafo Ultimate Awards ceremony celebrates talents and renowned personalities in Ahafo and beyond. The ‘New Artist of the Year’ category debuted in the previous edition (2020) as ‘Talented kid of the year’ and has been rebranded this year.
